China to add 929,000 new public charging stations by 2023

In 2023, China added 929,000 public charging piles, an increase of 42.7% over the previous year. In addition, the number of private charging piles installed on vehicles also reached 2.458 million, an increase of 26.6% year-on-year. At present, there are about 6,000 highway service areas in the country with charging service capabilities and about 30,000 charging parking spaces.
