Iveco Group and BASF collaborate to recycle lithium-ion batteries from electric vehicles

Italian truck and bus manufacturer Iveco Group has announced a partnership with German chemical group BASF to recycle lithium-ion batteries used in its electric vehicles. BASF will be responsible for the entire recycling process, including collecting, packaging, transporting and recycling these batteries from various European countries. BASF will mechanically process these batteries into "black matter" and extract and reuse raw materials such as nickel, cobalt and lithium from them, and then supply these recycled metals to the local battery industry in Europe.
