Ford announced that it will invest $3.5 billion to build an LFP battery plant in Marshall, Michigan. The plant will be wholly owned by Ford and will be the first LFP battery plant in the United States supported by an automaker. It is expected to be put into production in 2026, with an initial design capacity of approximately 35 GWh per year, which can supply battery packs for approximately 400,000 Ford electric vehicles.
