When displaying CyberCab at the Petersen Automotive Museum, staff demonstrated how to connect the vehicle computer by wire and use a controller similar to a game controller to guide the vehicle to a designated location. The CyberCab exhibited this time was not equipped with wheel covers, revealing its unique braking system, similar to the calipers of the Model 3 Performance, and used rear brakes on all four wheels, with the brakes on the rear axle painted red. In addition to the wired control method in the car, the controller can also control it wirelessly outside the car, mainly for manual intervention when the vehicle encounters special circumstances. CyberCab is designed for fully autonomous driving. There is no steering wheel and pedals in the car, so wireless control becomes a more practical and cost-effective solution. It is expected that CyberCab will begin public road testing in the first quarter of 2025. In the initial testing period, the vehicle still needs to be equipped with a safety driver to ensure safe operation.
