The United States recently announced that it will conduct a final trade investigation into "traditional" semiconductors made in China, which may trigger additional tariffs on Chinese chips. These chips are widely used in daily consumer goods such as cars, washing machines, and telecommunications equipment. According to the plan, the "Section 301" investigation into China's mature chips will be officially launched four weeks before January 20, and the relevant procedures will be completed by the outgoing Trump administration in January 2025.
