Ford Motor to build lithium iron phosphate battery factory in Michigan, USA

In February 2023, Ford Motor announced the construction of a lithium iron phosphate battery plant in Marshall, Michigan, USA. The new plant is wholly owned by Ford and is expected to be put into production in 2026. As part of the plan, Ford and CATL have reached a new agreement, and CATL will provide technical and service support for the production of Ford's lithium iron phosphate battery plant.
