Application and influence of wide bandgap switching devices in motor drive systems

0
With the rapid development of the electric vehicle industry, wide bandgap devices such as silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) are increasingly used. These devices play an important role in improving the power density, power delivery capability and efficiency of motor drive systems. Although there are currently some packaging-related issues with GaN devices, related research work is being actively carried out. In practical applications, wide bandgap devices can help achieve higher system efficiency, but the selection of a suitable switching frequency requires careful consideration. In addition, wide bandgap devices are also expected to bring innovations to future motor drive topologies.
