TSMC receives $6.6 billion in CHIPS Act incentives

The U.S. Department of Commerce reached a non-binding preliminary agreement with TSMC on April 8 on the CHIPS Act incentive program, which includes $6.6 billion in grants, up to $5 billion in loans, and potential tax credits, which will bring total federal funding to more than $27 billion.
