Toyota Motors will extend the shutdown of six production lines at four plants in Japan until February 5 due to suspected emissions certification violations by Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO). Ten models worldwide are affected, including Land Cruiser and Prado. TICO was accused of tampering with test results and violating Japanese laws and regulations. Toyota President Tsuneharu Sato publicly apologized for this and said he would reflect deeply.
