Infineon expands silicon carbide production, signs automaker supply agreement

The global race for silicon carbide chips is heating up as accelerating adoption of electric vehicles and green energy drives demand. Infineon Technologies AG is expanding its silicon carbide production in Kulim, Malaysia, and Villach, Austria, and has signed deals to supply such chips to automakers Stellantis, Hyundai Motor and Kia.
