EU to make digital battery passport mandatory by 2027

From February 2027, the EU will require all newly sold power batteries, two-wheel vehicle batteries and industrial batteries with a capacity of more than 2 kWh to be equipped with a digital battery passport. This move aims to improve the transparency and sustainability of the battery value chain, reduce environmental impact, and promote the use of second-hand batteries.
