UK Competition and Markets Authority looks at Synopsys and Ansys' market position after merger

On December 20, the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) expressed concerns that the merger of Synopsys and Ansys may dominate the fields of RTL power analysis and optical/photonics software, and asked the two parties to the transaction to propose a suitable solution. If the two parties fail to provide a satisfactory proposal, the CMA will initiate a more in-depth second phase investigation.
