Ballard to invest $200 million to build a 3GW fuel cell super factory in Texas, USA

Ballard announced that it will receive $40 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Energy to build and expand an integrated fuel cell super factory in Texas. Ballard plans to name the new factory Ballard Rockwall Giga 1. The factory can produce 8 million membrane electrode assemblies, 8 million bipolar plates, 20,000 fuel cell stacks and 20,000 fuel cell engines annually, with a total investment of approximately $200 million. It is expected to be put into production by the end of 2027.
