Panasonic Energy plans third electric vehicle battery factory in the U.S.

Although Panasonic Energy abandoned its initial plan to build a factory in Oklahoma last year, it still plans to build a third electric vehicle battery factory in the United States. Allan Swan, president of North America, discussed the plan at the 2024 International Consumer Electronics Show, but did not provide specific details. As a supplier to Tesla, Panasonic Energy still needs "more factories" to achieve its goal of increasing annual production capacity from the current 50GWh to 200GWh by 2031.
