EU to make driver drowsiness and inattention warning systems mandatory

From July 2024, it will be mandatory for all new cars in the EU to be fitted with driver drowsiness and attention warning systems. These systems will identify driving and/or steering patterns to indicate a driver's reduced alertness or attention to the road. This will help ensure that drivers using driver assistance systems keep their attention on the road.
