BMW Group and CATL sign cylindrical battery supply agreement

BMW Group and CATL have signed a long-term cooperation agreement. Starting from 2025, CATL will supply cylindrical batteries with a diameter of 46mm for BMW Group's new generation of pure electric vehicles. These batteries will be produced in factories in China and Europe with an annual production capacity of up to 20GWh. BMW's sixth-generation eDrive technology will be combined with CATL's batteries to achieve a major breakthrough in electric vehicle performance. Both parties will also focus on sustainable development and give priority to the use of raw materials from renewable resources and certified mines.
