Changan Ford recalls some Edge L and Mach-E electric vehicles

Changan Ford announced that it will recall 14,883 Edge L vehicles produced between August 1, 2022 and August 2, 2023. The reason for the recall is that the electronic parking brake motor of some vehicles may short-circuit due to manufacturing reasons, resulting in the inability to start or release the electronic parking brake, posing a safety hazard. In addition, Changan Ford also plans to recall 398 Mach-E electric vehicles produced between July 27, 2021 and April 6, 2022 from July 1, 2024. The reason is that the design and parts differences of the main relay of the power battery high-voltage distribution box may cause overheating, causing the relay to stick or abnormally disconnect, and in extreme cases, the vehicle may not start or lose power while driving.
