Tesla, Ford, and other automakers' driver assistance systems are under scrutiny

Partially automated driving systems from automakers including Tesla, Ford and Volvo performed poorly and failed to provide adequate safety assurances, according to a study by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which noted that the systems lacked effective measures to prevent drivers from being distracted.
