Northvolt plans to build new factory in Quebec, Canada

In September 2023, Northvolt announced that it would invest in a $5.2 billion super factory in Quebec, Canada. This is Northvolt's first large-scale factory outside of Europe. The company will invest $3.2 billion, and the Canadian federal and local governments will each contribute $1 billion. The annual production capacity of the first phase of battery cells will reach 30GWh and is expected to be put into production in 2026.
