II VI officially acquires Coherent and changes its name to Coherent, becoming a leading manufacturer in materials, networking, lasers and optics

In July 2022, II VI officially completed the acquisition of Coherent and changed the company's name to Coherent in September of the same year. The acquisition made Coherent a leading manufacturer in the fields of materials, networks, lasers, and optics. In the materials business, Coherent's third-generation semiconductor products include SiC epitaxy, substrates, devices, and modules.
