Tesla suspends Gigacast innovation program

Tesla has suspended its ambitious Gigacast innovation plan, according to people familiar with the matter, a decision that shows the company is adjusting amid declining sales and intensifying market competition. Tesla was once a leader in Gigacast technology, which uses huge pressure to die-cast most of the car body into a single part. However, Tesla has decided to maintain the existing three-piece casting method, that is, the front and rear parts are cast separately, and the middle part uses aluminum and steel frame to store batteries, which is consistent with the production method of the company's two latest models, Model Y and Cybertruck.
