Honda and Nissan announce merger to create world's third-largest automaker

Honda and Nissan Motor officially announced their merger, and are expected to sign a final agreement in June 2025 and be listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in August 2026. The merged new company will have an annual sales target of more than 30 trillion yen (about 1.4 trillion yuan) and an operating profit target of more than 3 trillion yen (about 139.85 billion yuan).
