ABB, a global leader in electrification and automation technology, recently announced that it has successfully reached an agreement with Siemens Gamesa, a subsidiary of Siemens Energy, and completed the acquisition of its power electronics business. The acquired assets include core products such as doubly fed induction generators (DFIG) wind converters, industrial battery energy storage systems (BESS) and utility-scale solar inverters. Through this transaction, ABB not only enriched its product line, but also acquired more than 100 professional engineers and two converter factories in Madrid and Valencia, with a total of about 400 employees. The transaction is expected to be completed within the next year, which will bring new revenue channels and profit growth points to ABB, thereby improving its overall performance and profitability.
