Xiaomi Motors begins development of new platform, plans to launch multiple SUV models

According to a report by China Business News, Xiaomi Auto has begun developing a new platform that will use a range-extended hybrid powertrain. The three products that have been planned are all SUV models, positioned as family cars. These models will be benchmarked against the Ideal L7, Ideal L8 and Ideal L9, and the products will be differentiated by adjusting the wheelbase and number of seats. It is reported that the price of these models will be lower than that of Ideal products.
