Google acquires Fitbit, James Park joins Google and launches Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2

In November 2019, Google announced that it would acquire Fitbit, a major smart wearable device manufacturer, for $2.1 billion. Fitbit co-founder and CEO James Park subsequently joined Google and continued to lead the team as Fitbit's vice president and general manager, and launched two generations of smart watches for Google, the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2.
