Intel Corp. is considering selling its subsidiary Altera, and several companies have expressed interest. Private equity firms including Francisco Partners and Silver Lake Management, as well as Apollo Global Management Inc. and Bain Capital are seeking to acquire Altera, according to people familiar with the matter. Intel expects to let bidders formalize their offers by the end of January.
