Rapidus CEO Junyoshi Koike said that it plans to complete the development of the 2nm chip prototype in the spring of 2025 and achieve mass production in 2027. Rapidus is a joint venture established in 2022 by eight Japanese companies including Sony, Toyota, NTT, Mitsubishi, NEC, Kioxia and SoftBank to achieve localized design and manufacturing of advanced semiconductor processes.
