James Peng, CEO and founder of Pony.ai, said in an interview that production costs for China's driverless taxi companies will fall next year. The company plans to increase its fleet of autonomous driving travel services (Robotaxi) to at least 1,000 by 2025 from about 250 vehicles currently, thanks to lower manufacturing expenses and the expansion of service areas in first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
