Nissan adopts Tesla's Gigacasting process

Nissan Motor Co. has announced that it will manufacture some of its electric vehicles using the gigacasting process pioneered by Tesla Inc. to reduce costs. The automaker will use the approximately 6,000-ton machine to make the rear floor of the electric vehicles to be sold starting in fiscal 2027.
