ASML CEO questions EU's $43 billion chip bill target

The EU's $43 billion chip bill aims to get European manufacturers a 20% world market share by 2030. However, ASML CEO Peter Wennink believes this goal is "totally unrealistic." He said that even if TSMC, Bosch, NXP and Infineon's investment in wafer fabs is good for the European automotive industry, it is still far from enough. To achieve a 20% market share, a large number of new wafer fabs will be needed for mass production.
