Google is reportedly accelerating its plans to shift production from China to Vietnam in response to potential tariffs proposed by US President-elect Trump. The move is in line with the "China + 1" strategy adopted by many companies amid US-China trade tensions. Vietnam has now become an emerging key player in Google's production, especially for the Pixel 10 smartphone series expected to be released in 2025. Industry experts point out that Vietnam will be responsible for assembling Google's standard Pixel 10 model as well as the Pro and XL models. Google's previous release schedule was to launch the Pixel A series models in the first half of the year and the flagship models in the second half of the year. Following this schedule, the Pixel 9a and Pixel 10 series have already gone into production in Vietnam, showing a major shift in Google's manufacturing approach. At the same time, Google has maintained consistency in its component sourcing to avoid tariffs on the final assembly location.
