The U.S. Department of Commerce has decided to provide Bosch Group with up to $225 million in subsidies and a proposed government loan of approximately $350 million to support its SiC capacity expansion project in Roseville, California. The funds will be used to transform Bosch Group's 8-inch silicon wafer factory to build a silicon carbide wafer production line, and plans to start producing the first 8-inch silicon carbide chips in 2026. This project is expected to create 1,700 new jobs and account for more than 40% of all silicon carbide device production capacity in the United States when it is fully loaded.
