According to media reports, a spokesperson for German industrial giant Bosch confirmed that its automotive business unit plans to cut 8,250 jobs in the next few years. This is equivalent to 2% of Bosch's approximately 429,000 employees worldwide. In fact, Bosch announced the decision to lay off employees and shorten the working hours of some employees last month, but the number of layoffs announced at the time was 5,000, which is much lower than the new number announced by the company spokesperson on Wednesday. Bosch said in its latest statement that the automotive industry is undergoing "profound changes" and the company faces major challenges and must "remain competitive."
