Thailand approves $306 million investment by Foxconn subsidiary

Thailand's Board of Investment (BOI) announced on Wednesday that it has approved a $306 million investment by a Foxconn subsidiary to produce mechanical parts and equipment for the chip industry. The investment will be made through Foxconn subsidiary Unique Integrated Technology and will build a factory in Chonburi and Rayong. "This is a significant investment by a company that belongs to Foxconn Technology Group and is a leader in the global semiconductor wafer manufacturing equipment supply chain," said Narit Tadsthirasakdi, secretary general of the BOI.
