GAC Aion and Pony.ai plan to launch at least 1,000 Aion Robotaxi models

GAC Aion and Pony.ai plan to launch at least 1,000 Aion Robotaxi models, the first batch of which will be completed in 2025 and first landed in the Greater Bay Area. GAC Aion and Pony.ai will jointly develop a fully redundant front-mounted mass-produced Robotaxi vehicle platform based on Aion's global models and Pony.ai's seventh-generation autonomous driving software and hardware system solutions. On October 10, 2024, GAC Group (601238.SH, 02238.HK) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary GAC Capital Co., Ltd. invested US$27 million (approximately RMB 191 million) in Pony AI Inc.
