Volkswagen plans to close or sell its plant northwest of Shanghai, according to reports. People familiar with the matter told Bloomberg News earlier. Volkswagen has a large network of production bases in China, including 39 plants in Shanghai, Changchun, Dalian, Nanjing, Yizheng, Chengdu, Foshan, Ningbo, Changsha, Urumqi, Qingdao, Tianjin and Hefei. Volkswagen did not respond to the report.
