Japan's three largest automakers team up to develop next-generation car software

Major Japanese automakers including Toyota, Honda and Nissan announced that they will combine their expertise in areas such as generative artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors to jointly develop next-generation automotive software. As vehicles become increasingly connected and software-defined, back-end systems such as telematics servers play a vital role in collecting and managing large amounts of sensitive data related to vehicle status, location, usage patterns and driver behavior.
