GM CEO Mary Barra declares driverless taxi business not a core business

GM CEO Mary Barra said the driverless taxi business is not the company's core business. As a result, GM will no longer provide financial support to Cruise. The company said that launching and maintaining a network of driverless taxis is not something they are interested in. GM plans to integrate Cruise's commercial technology into their vision of "personal self-driving." After investing a staggering $10 billion, GM has put the brakes on the Cruise project.
