ON Semiconductor acquires Qorvo SiC JFET technology business to enrich power product portfolio

ON Semiconductor announced that it has agreed to acquire Qorvo's silicon carbide junction field effect transistor (SiC JFET) technology business and its subsidiary United Silicon Carbide for $115 million in cash. The acquisition will enrich ON Semiconductor's EliteSiC power product portfolio to meet the needs of artificial intelligence (AI) data center power AC-DC segment for high energy efficiency and high power density, and will also promote its application in emerging markets such as electric vehicle circuit breakers and solid-state circuit breakers (SSCB).
