Valeo launches rare earth-free electric motor

French automotive parts supplier Valeo recently launched a new rare earth-free motor. Compared with permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM), this motor has a 30% reduction in motor-level carbon footprint. Through flat wire technology, the power density of this motor is 30% higher than the current EESM. In addition, this motor has high efficiency, especially in highway driving cycles, which is very suitable for long-range electric vehicles. Combined cooling: Water and oil combined cooling achieves higher continuous power.
