Tesla plans to launch a new model, Model Q, with a more affordable target market

Tesla announced that it will launch a new model Model Q in the next six months, which is designed to attract a wider consumer group. Through subsidy policies, its price will be controlled below US$30,000, further lowering the purchase threshold of Tesla products. The research and development code name of Model Q is "Redwood", which will be built on Tesla's latest generation of platform architecture. Compared with the existing Model 3, the body size of Model Q has been reduced by 15%, the weight has been reduced by about 30%, and the length of the whole vehicle is about 3988mm. In terms of power, Model Q is expected to be equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries, providing two battery capacity options of 53kWh and 75kWh to meet the needs of different consumers. In addition, Tesla plans to launch the long-wheelbase Model Y model in the second half of 2025 to enhance its competitiveness in the Chinese market.
