The SAE J2819 protocol was developed by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) to promote the standardization of communications between automotive microcontroller modules. This protocol, also known as the TP2.0 automotive diagnostic protocol, is widely used in ECU communications for some models of Volkswagen, Audi and other brands in the United States.
