GlobalFoundries has received more than $80 million in government funding for gallium nitride chip research and manufacturing

Since 2020, GlobalFoundries has received more than $80 million in funding from the US government to support research, development and full-scale manufacturing of gallium nitride chips. This includes $35 million in funding received in October 2023 and $1.5 billion in direct funding as part of the Chips and Science Act in February this year.
