BYD opens large production base in Brazil, plans to produce electric vehicles

BYD recently opened a large production base in Brazil to expand its business in South America. The base is located in Camacari, Ia State, Brazil, with a total investment of 3 billion reais (about 4.5 billion yuan), and is expected to create 20,000 jobs. According to the plan, BYD will start producing the first batch of electric vehicles in Brazil in 2025, and the production capacity is expected to reach 150,000 vehicles by the end of 2025, and increase to 300,000 vehicles by the end of 2026. The new factory will produce four models, including Dolphin, Song Plus DM-i, Yuan Plus and Seagull, which are mainly supplied to the Brazilian and South American markets.
