Changan Automobile Executive Vice President compares Tesla FSD and Huawei Intelligent Driving System

Previously, Zhang Xiaoyu, executive vice president of Changan Automobile, said that Tesla's fully autonomous driving (FSD) system and Huawei's intelligent driving system each have their own advantages, but in the long run, Huawei's intelligent driving system is more likely to surpass human driving levels. In Zhang Xiaoyu's view, Huawei's choice to use lidar, combined with a variety of sensors, can achieve full-environment perception capabilities. Such intelligent driving is safer and has greater potential. In contrast, pure visual solutions are more passive. For example, visual solutions that rely on ambient light may be affected in bad weather such as heavy rain, fog or at night, which poses a challenge to the safety of intelligent driving.
