Tower Semiconductor Releases New 300mm Silicon Photonics Process Standard Foundry Products

Tower Semiconductor, an Israeli foundry for high-value analog semiconductor solutions, recently launched a new 300mm silicon photonics (SiPho) process standard foundry product. This new process is a complement to Tower's existing 200mm (PH18) platform, which has been put into production and can provide customers with advanced solutions to meet the growing demand for high-speed data communications in next-generation data communication applications. The new 300mm product features excellent silicon waveguides and industry-leading low-loss silicon nitride waveguides. The larger wafer size improves compatibility with industry-standard OSAT (outsourced semiconductor assembly and test) platforms, while also facilitating seamless integration with electronic components, thereby improving overall efficiency.
