Analog Devices announces thousands of layoffs worldwide, with Massachusetts hardest hit

As one of the largest employers in Massachusetts, semiconductor manufacturer Analog Devices (ADI) carried out large-scale global layoffs in 2024, totaling thousands of layoffs. According to the annual report submitted by the company, as of November 2, ADI had a total of approximately 24,000 employees, which was 2,000 fewer than the global workforce as of October 28, 2023, a decrease of approximately 8%. In Massachusetts, ADI eliminated nearly 200 positions. As of July 1 this year, ADI had 2,643 full-time positions in Massachusetts, a 7% decrease from 2,834 positions in the same period last year.
