Private equity firms weigh bids for Synopsys' software integrity business

According to people familiar with the matter, private equity firms Advent International and Hellman & Friedman are considering bidding for Synopsys's $3 billion software integrity business (SIG). In addition, Thoma Bravo is also considering acquiring the SIG department in the preliminary stage. Synopsys is a chip designer, and its SIG department mainly provides application security testing services for software developers. The review is still ongoing, and it is not yet certain whether any private equity firm will make an acquisition offer to SIG.
