In November, it was reported that there were rumors that California had "just passed" a new bill requiring half of new cars manufactured or sold in California to be equipped with passive speed limiters by 2029, and all new cars by 2032. The bill also stipulates that starting from the 2030 model year, the speed limit must not exceed the speed limit by 10 miles per hour, otherwise the vehicle's speed limit system will alert the driver through visual and audio signals.
