US chip controls tightened, Cisco bans suppliers from providing products made in mainland China

As the US government tightens control over chip exports, network equipment maker Cisco has banned suppliers from providing products made in mainland China. Cisco has increased its requirements for chip origin certification, from the final packaging location to tracking the source of the chip itself and its masks to ensure they are not made in mainland China.
